Theodora Rudolph, English literature and writing alum, was hired as the new youth services librarian at New Ulm Library, Minnesota, in April 2016.

The Marylhurst ASCD Student Chapter is designed to accelerate the professional growth of preservice educators and their self-identification as education professionals and leaders. We are committed to improving teacher education and teacher quality. By meaningfully engaging student teachers with ASCD resources and involving them with members of the ASCD community, future educators and leaders gain an edge that energizes and raises their professional performance level.
The Future Designers of Marylhurst are students from the interior design program who are aiming to further bridge the gap from student life to professionalism by providing supplemental education, networking opportunities and design-project experiences. Any student enrolled in an interior design studio course is automatically a member of this organization.
The Labyrinth Group at Marylhurst works to raise awareness of the labyrinth as a tool for healing and well being; to build community through use of the labyrinth at Marylhurst for students, staff, faculty, alumni and administration as well as outreach to the wider community; to encourage renewal and reflection for everyone through labyrinth walks and events; to sponsor campus labyrinth events throughout the year; and to vision a permanent outdoor labyrinth on the MU campus. The purpose of the Marylhurst Gerontology Association (MGA) is to share and encourage a new paradigm for aging that recognizes the importance of understanding aging as a natural phenomenon that occurs throughout the life course. We support visionary pilot programs promoting healthy ways of aging and professional advancement and learning, including continuing education for gerontology professionals and those in related fields. While promoting cooperation with other gerontology professionals and student organizations, MGA sponsors and co-sponsors seminars, workshops and guest speakers.
The mission of the Marylhurst LGBTQ Alliance is to encourage diversity, inclusion and dialogue in Marylhurst University and Oregon. We seek to help, support and give voice to the LGBTQ community present at Marylhurst University.
The purpose of MMTSO is to promote, foster and advance the education and training of its members. We seek to promote the education, validity and purpose of the music therapy profession, specifically including the goals and objectives of the American Music Therapy Association.
Marylhurst Psychology Association
The mission and purpose of the Marylhurst Psychology Association (MPA) is to produce well-educated, ethical and socially responsible members committed to contributing to the application and science of psychology and to society in general. Our goals are to encourage public education and awareness of psychological issues across the lifespan, to encourage collaboration between institutions offering psychology programs, to sponsor or co-sponsor seminars, workshops and guest speakers, and to support community outreach activities to promote mental health.
The purpose of the Biblical Exegesis Society is to explore scripture using the historical critical method of scriptural analysis. Open to students, alumni, faculty and staff. We provide mentoring for those beginning the process of biblical exegesis. For those with more skill, we offer the opportunity to be mentors and teachers as well as the pursuit of advanced studies with peer input and guidance.
The film group at Marylhurst University aims to bring together the creative minds of students interested in the craft of film. The group's objectives are to practice the art and form of filmmaking, which includes cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, scriptwriting, music and theory. The only way to practice the craft is to start making films, so we will be working within the group and the community of Marylhurst in order to accomplish that end. Our ultimate goal is to form friendships and partnerships that last beyond graduation, as it is true that no one succeeds in anything alone. Through practice and creative collaboration we hope to start producing films of merit, no matter the different genre of the films we decide to make. For more information, email email@example.com.
