Elluminate (Blackboard Collaborate)

Elluminate Web Conferencing is fairly easy to use, we do suggest that you take a few moments to read through the following system requirements and browse through the training links before your Web conference session, in order to get the most out of it. Be aware that some of the support links may say Blackboard Collaborate on the Web page but it is still referring to Elluminate requirements.

In preparation, please do the following:

• Make sure your computer is connected to the internet and has a stable, reliable connection
  
  
• To familiarize yourself with Elluminate, please take a moment to review the system check and download the participant quick start reference guide
  
  
• When first joining an Elluminate Web conference session you may see a security dialog box asking to confirm the "application's digital signature" -- click "Run" to continue
  
  
• Be sure to join at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the session to ensure you can successfully load the Web conference
  
  
• Remember that running other applications on your computer can slow your connection
  
  
• Confirm that you meet the minimum system requirements below

System Requirements

In order to participate, you will need the following hardware. If you are unsure whether you have the appropriate hardware, please go to the Elluminate support website.

Windows Requirements

• Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
• Pentium III 1 GHz processor
• 256 MB of free RAM
• 20 MB free disk space
• 28.8 kbps Internet connection
• Java (Recommended is Java version 1.6.0_13 or higher for best experience)

• IE 7 and above
• Firefox 3.6 and above
• Google Chrome 3.0 and above

Mac Requirements

• OS X 10.5 or OS X 10.6
