BA in Science
Persons fascinated by science often find it difficult to choose a single educational focus, such as biology or physics. At Marylhurst, where learning is about making connections, students can earn a bachelor's degree with a program that integrates the sciences.
Students choose one of two concentrations – both programs are designed to provide a cross-disciplinary foundation in science:
Environmental Science
General Science

The BA in Science program provides students with an exciting new awareness, an increased sensitivity of and respect for all life on earth and the earth itself.
In this program, students:
- Get practical hands-on experience in the natural world;
- Utilize state-of-the-art audio, visual and computer facilities that simulate the natural world;
- Learn in small, provocative and highly interactive classes;
- Develop proficiency in assessing and analyzing scientific problems and issues; and
- Cultivate skills and confidence in communication with scientists and non-scientists.
Upon completing the program, students will have developed a full appreciation of what science means to both global and local communities. The Marylhurst objective is to instill in students a dedication to sustaining a diverse and healthy life on earth through the application of sound and responsible science.
