1. Meet with your adviser
2. Submit the application to the Office of the Registrar by the published deadline via U.S. mail, fax or scan-and-email.
At the end of your graduation term, the Office of the Registrar will review your graduation audit to verify that you have satisfied all requirements. If all requirements are satisfied on time, your degree or certificate conferral date will be the last date of the term for which you applied to graduate, and we will mail your diploma to the address indicated on your graduation application.
Diplomas are generally mailed six to eight weeks following the end of the term. Diplomas are not given out at the commencement ceremony.
Please note that we cannot issue your diploma if you have an outstanding balance with the student accounts office, an overdue library book, or a library fine.
Evidence of the completion of all degree requirements (e.g., official test scores, official transcripts for transfer credit, final grades for incomplete and in progress courses, outcome assessment results, credits by examination, or other credits from outside sources) must be received by the Office of the Registrar within 21 calendar days of the last day of the term in which the student has applied to graduate. Students who have not fulfilled degree requirements by this date will need to re-apply for graduation for a subsequent term.
Students should strive to complete and record all transfer credits, outcome assessments, course challenges, credits by examination, and other non-standard credits before they apply to graduate. Delays in recording these credits in the selected graduation term may result in delayed conferral of the degree to the next academic term.
The adviser signature on the application for graduation affirms the adviser's belief that (1) the student can reasonably complete or submit documentation of all requirements within the time frame outlined above, and (2) the adviser has discussed all the remaining requirements with the student and feels confident that the student is aware of all remaining requirements and deadlines.
