Neurological Strategies to Increase Student Engagement, Motivation & MemoryOctober 15, 2009Thursday, 7-9 pm Judy Willis, M.D., M.Ed., will describe classroom-ready tools to help all students achieve their maximum potential by maintaining focus, increasing working memory and consolidating working memory into strong long-term goal motivation and patterning. Dr. Willis is the author of several books including Research-Based Strategies to Ignite Student Learning; Insight from a Neurologist & Classroom Teacher; and Brain-Friendly Strategies for the Inclusion Classroom. A consultant for professional and curriculum development, Dr. Willis is also a presenter at national and international educational conferences in the field of learning-centered brain research and classroom strategies derived from her research. With a medical degree from UCLA, Dr. Willis practiced neurology for 15 years and then obtained her Master of Education from the University of California.
