Marylhurst University Day at Mary's Woods

Marylhurst University has enjoyed a partnership with its neighbors at Mary's Woods for nearly ten years. As part of the partnership, Marylhurst and Mary's Woods co-sponsor a variety of events during the year, including Music in the Woods. Events are open to the general public.

Every second Tuesday of the month is Marylhurst Day at Mary's Woods, with the exception of August. Free and open to the public.

Nancy Hiss, director of the Interior Design program, talks Marylhurst's program in interior design and dialogs with participants about what's on their minds about interior design when moving into a smaller living space.

Morning coffee, 10-11 am. Blake Shell, director of The Art Gym Gallery, will give an update on the gallery and highlight future exhibits

Afternoon session, 2:30-3:30 pm. Looking for Afghanistan: Stories from a Land the World Doesn't Know. Paul Ventura, chair of the Sustainable Business program, will share slides, stories and music of his work and travel in Afghanistan in the early 1970s, when the country was a vastly different place than it is today.

10am-noon. Summer Walk-about. Stroll the Marylhurst University campus with Sister Carole Strawn and Jenny Sasser. See and hear the history of the 122-year-old institution.
