Admissions: International StudentsMarylhurst University has one of the friendliest and safest campuses in the Portland, Oregon region. A small, private liberal arts university with more than 100 years of academic history, Marylhurst has 1300 students, with international students representing 12 countries, enrolled in language foundation studies and bachelors and masters degree programs. Marylhurst is on the quarter system: fall, winter, spring and summer. Terms are usually 10 weeks. Classes are offered days, evenings, weekends and online. Students with TOEFL scores of 550 PBT, 213 CBT, or 79 iBT and higher may apply directly to a Marylhurst University certificate or degree program. English Language ProgramsIf your TOEFL score is below 510 PBT, 180 CBT, or 64 iBT, you can apply to the English Language Intensive Program at Pacific International Academy, located on the Marylhurst campus. Marylhurst will accept up to 18 elective credits from ESL levels 3, 4 and 5 toward your bachelors degree. About Pacific International Academy If your TOEFL score is between 510-549 PBT, 180-210 CBT, or 64-78 iBT, and you are seeking a bachelors degree, you can apply to the Language Foundation Program at Marylhurst. In this program, youll take three writing courses with three liberal arts courses, earning college credit toward your Marylhurst bachelors degree. If you do not have a TOEFL score, you may still apply to Marylhurst. You will take a language proficiency test when you arrive on our campus to determine which program is best for you.
