Prior to earning his doctorate and joining the Marylhurst faculty, Centáe taught high school Spanish in Phoenix. While pursuing his graduate studies, he served as a faculty associate, bilingual education instructor, social studies methods instructor, and technical and graduate research assistant at Arizona State University.
