About

Bob lives in Girdwood, Alaska, where he teaches music, skiing and science. He has worked for the United States Forest Service and the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) as a field botanist/mycologist and has taught and held teaching certificates in both Oregon and Alaska.

He is an avid SCUBA diver and was an active volunteer diver at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Oregon, before moving to Alaska. He has led tour groups and diving trips to the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, The Inside Passage of Canada and Alaska, the Hawaiian Islands and Baja California.

His current interests are biogeography, reef ecology and the history of evolution.
