Degree Requirements

BA in Environmental Science

Minimum of 180 total quarter credits
Minimum of 60 upper-division credits
Minimum of 45 credits from Marylhurst
80 credits required for major

Foundation Courses (45 crs.)

45 credits are required in a variety of science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, earth science, meteorology, astronomy, or oceanography. Includes required course  Math Skills for Scientists. 12 credits can be applied toward the NW & LLD Liberal Arts Core outcomes.

Core Concentration Courses (20 crs.)

Science Perspectives
Research Methods
Internship or Research Project
Select the remaining credits from upper-division courses in:
environmental chemistry, ethics & mediation, field methods, sustainability, and global environmental issues.

Concentration Electives (15 crs.)

Elective courses should relate to a specialty or focus chosen by student. Courses are selected from upper-division environmental or other science offered by the department.
