Peter Whitmore has traveled the world doing location recording of modern classical music and environmental soundscapes. He has performed a variety of styles with local music and dance ensembles, including 3 Leg Torso, Octet Noir, Kafana Klub and The Accidental Ensemble, and in musical theater productions including the Broadway Rose and Lakewood companies.
Peter has received composition commissions from Sony Digital Audio Services and the Oregon Zoo, among others. He participated in the Nautilus Composer's Residency in 1997, and was composer for the Celebrate Merce! Symposium at Reed College in 2004.
Peter is owner and manager of Sonosphere, a digital audio production facility in Portland, Oregon.
