Cara completed her MFA (2003) in English and Creative Writing at Mills College in Oakland, California. She received her BA in Sociology (1997) from University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. She has taught writing at Clackamas Community College, Marylhurst University, and Pacific International Academy. She enjoys writing fiction, young adult fiction, and creative non-fiction and has been published in The Oregonian, The Mills Quarterly and reviewed in Dramatics magazine. Her first published piece was performed by Denver Center Theatre Company actors as part of the Young Playwrights Program when she was seventeen.
