While some students complete the Prior Learning Assessment program on campus, others
choose to complete the entire program online. With the online option, you do not have
to report to class on a specific day or time, giving you added flexibility when your
schedule is unpredictable.
We offer both the Learning Assessment Workshop and the PLA Seminar in an online format
several times a year.
The Learning Assessment Workshop runs the first five weeks of a term, and the PLA
Seminar begins the first week of the following term. There will be weekly assignments;
you may work ahead if you wish.
The remainder of the PLA process, in which you work toward the development, completion
and submission of a PLA Portfolio, also may be completed online. Online communications
are usually augmented with telephone and/or face-to-face conferences.
