College Credit for Knowledge Gained Outside the Classroom

Marylhurst University's Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program is hosting an information session for individuals who want to learn about earning college credit for life and work-based learning in areas such as corporate and on-the-job training, volunteer work, workshops or seminars, community service, home management, military training, travel study and independent research.

Melanie Booth, director of Marylhurst University's Center for Experiential Learning & Assessment, will discuss the process of documenting knowledge in order to request college credit for prior learning. Other topics will include how PLA may reduce the time and decrease the cost of earning an undergraduate degree.
