Erin Osborne is First Jackie Mosier Award Recipient
Erin Osborne became the first recipient of the Jackie Mosier Emerging Writer Award on June 10, 2009 at the annual senior creative writing reading.
John Mosier presented a beautiful desktop paperweight in the shape of a book to Erin in memory of his late wife, Jackie Mosier. Erin was also presented with a plaque that will bear the name of each year's recipient and be displayed at Marylhurst University. In addition, Erin will receive $1,000 toward her fall tuition.
"The presentation of the award was met with enthusiasm by students and faculty and created a wonderful sense of excitement," said Meg Roland, chair of the English Literature & Writing Department. "It is a welcome addition to our community and will be a great financial help to a very worthy student each year."
